A plain PP woven bag without BOPP lamination offers limited moisture resistance — the woven fabric structure allows humidity to penetrate over time, causing the adhesive powder to partially set inside the bag. BOPP lamination creates a continuous moisture barrier on the outer surface of the bag, significantly reducing surface moisture penetration during storage and transit.
Beyond moisture protection, BOPP lamination transforms the visual quality of the packaging. Plain woven bags have a rough textile surface that limits print quality and colour vibrancy. The smooth BOPP film surface accepts high resolution multicolour flexographic printing — allowing tile adhesive brands to reproduce sharp logos, vibrant product photography, detailed application instructions and certification marks with print quality that matches paper or film packaging.
While BOPP lamination protects the outer surface, tile adhesive manufacturers in high humidity regions or those producing export bags for long sea freight routes often require an additional inner PE liner for complete moisture sealing.
